I wanted to find the lyricist (song writer) of a recent hindi film and I was pleasantly surprised to see Google answer<\/a> the query itself, saving me a click or two. (Click here<\/a> to see what I mean). I tried the same for a not-so-recent movie, but alas that didn’t work<\/a>. Of course, the “blame” is on Google’s partner, for they do not have that movie in their database.<\/p>\n

I was aware of the recent launch<\/a> of this service by Google which enables it to delivers answers to “factual” questions (like this one), so the surprise was really at their partnership with Indiainfo<\/a> to deliver content related to hindi movies. Good stuff, from a company that has lost focus in recent times IMHO – but that’s for another time.<\/p>\n

But clearly this service is in it’s infancy, for it doesn’t know the answer to some pretty basic questions<\/a> \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
